As a teenager, I was sure I knew everything. I was confident I would marry a nice Jewish girl, become a successful lawyer, and never face divorce or near bankruptcy. Of course, I was proven wrong in all of those certain beliefs. Over the years, I’ve observed that at any time in my life, I could look back five years and find a core belief I now know to be false. From this observation, I developed some needed humility and this assumption-challenging exercise.
Believing that you have the 'correct' answer can stifle your curiosity. While a particular answer may work for you now, better and more insightful solutions are often waiting to be discovered.
